Had a really great show at the
Oregon State University MU Ballroom on Friday!
Big thanks again to everyone for the warm reception.
(Apologies if you were wanting Christmas carols...)
Big thanks to Mina Carson for the great cover photo!
However, on that note, I will be recording a brand new "Yule Log" video that I'm hoping will run on CCTV sometime during the holidays.
I guess I'll do a few holiday songs... /grin
(I wonder if I can do Emmet Otters
Jug Band 'Bar-B-Q' on the piano...)
'Peaceful Worlds' was originally an improv that I recorded for a video (http://youtu.be/Z2VuBRjsngw) to show off the cool tie-dye I received from "Pieceful Worlds" clothing (http://www.etsy.com/shop/PiecefulWorlds). I wasn't sure that I actually remembered it, but I thought I'd give it a go during the show (no pressure... ;). But, it turned out ok and I think I might even like this version better! and... since I'm adding it to the set-list, I thought I should give it a name - kinda seemed like it might already have one…!
Dusk was an improv originally released on my last CD, 'Stripped.' It's not really Wakeman or Mozart, it's just a wonderful chord progression that is fun to noodle around with. I play it differently ever single time - and I hope that never changes.
"Drippy" is from my upcoming CD, "Orbit: A Love Story" - Imagine staring out a window watching large drops of never ending rain... This song was originally the 2011 Spring improv for a video (http://youtu.be/vUmHP_v1Ti0) of time lapsed rainclouds mixed with spring flowers here in Corvallis. This version includes the tag ending which was cut from the CD, but I still like it enough to throw it in sometimes for grins. :)
